Step 2

Use the recording tool in the small window to practice saying the Northern Pomo word until you feel comfortable with pronouncing it.

Step 3

On Worksheet 11 write the word for “my aunt” in Northern Pomo on the “my aunt” line.

(You can also fill in the names of your uncle and aunts on the “Name” lines!)

Now do Steps 1, 2, and 3 for your other aunt (your mother’s younger sister) and your uncle (your mother’s brother).

When you’ve finished, check the At the end of Lesson 19 box below to make sure you’ve completed all the activities for this Lesson.

Thinking about language!
Have you noticed anything about the way you say “aunt” in Northern Pomo that is different from the way you say it in English?
