verb | kissing
A cultural note from Edna: "Indians weren’t kissing people, they rarely showed their feelings. They could be just crazy about you but they would never put their arm around one another or hugging and kissing, they didn’t do that. It was mothers with babies more than anything else. But a man would never come out and kiss his wife in public or demonstrate any feeling for her in public, regardless of how he felt about her. They showed their love in other ways, not in a display of affection that’s so strong with the non-Indian." |
